Pattern show use of symbols

Defines the purpose of patterns used by at least one culture

Describes purpose behind personal pattern

Patterns incorporate a variety of symbols that effectively link together

Compares and contrasts the patterns between two cultures

Communicates the full meaning of symbols used in personal pattern to express individuality

Patterns incorporate a variety of  symbols and characters that display meaning, ideas and values

Correlates the use of repetition, symbolism and image representation between a large variety of cultures

Provokes others to recognize values and ideas based on discussion of personal pattern and how it relates to the cultural group it was created within yet incorporating other cultural viewpoints as well

Task:  Students will be asked to give a presentation on a culture that they studied and demonstrate how they borrowed from it to create their pattern.  They will show their art creation and incorporate the meaning behind it with the knowledge they derived from their study of other cultures.
